Features and Functionality
Managing Workloads
Distributing assignments to the right people can be incredibly complicated, especially if you’re working with larger teams. Teamwork.com’s Workload tool offers a digestible summary of the current state of your workflow, including which team members are available to take on new tasks.
Time Tracking
Similarly, Teamwork provides a straightforward framework for tracking time and adjusting your time budget for future projects. The built-in time tracker makes it easy for team members to record the time they spend working for more accurate invoices and more actionable insights into resource allocation.
Project Templates
Teamwork’s comprehensive collection of project templates covers everything from content plans and marketing campaigns to onboarding and event planning, and you can also build custom templates as needed. These features help subscribers run workflows more efficiently using pre-set processes that can be configured to almost any kind of project.
Collaboration Tools
Like other project management platforms, Teamwork.com gives you a centralized dashboard with convenient access to every individual project. You can also manage project permissions on a granular level, including specific access settings for each particular task.
While Teamwork.com plans don’t come with a built-in messaging or chat app, you can subscribe to Teamwork Chat for $5 per user per month ($4 when billed annually). Teamwork Chat integrates with the base Teamwork.com plan, and the Pro subscription comes with 100GB of file storage plus 10GB for each individual user. Custom enterprise plans are also available for larger organizations.
Plans and Pricing
Teamwork.com offers a surprisingly robust free plan that supports up to 5 users, 2 simultaneous projects, and up to 100MB of storage. Those restrictions obviously limit its utility, but it’s still a viable option for smaller businesses. Unfortunately, the free subscription is also missing some notable features including templates, invoicing, time tracking, workflow capacity, and integrations with Slack, Quickbooks, and Harvest.
Pro plans cost $12.50 per user per month ($10 when billed annually) and add in the features mentioned above. You can upgrade to Premium for $22.50 per user per month ($18 when billed annually) to unlock a number of advanced tools such as project time budgets, resource scheduling, custom fields, and integrations with SharePoint, OneDrive, and HubSpot. Custom enterprise plans target larger organizations with features like priority support, single sign-on, training/onboarding, support for unlimited projects, and a dedicated account manager.
Apps
Teamwork.com provides desktop apps for Windows and Mac along with mobile apps for both iOS and Android devices. With that being said, you can also access the platform through your internet browser if you’d rather avoid downloading a separate app. The browser interface essentially mirrors what’s included in the desktop app, so that’s mostly a question of convenience.
While the mobile apps offer most of the same features you can find in the browser or desktop app, they don’t quite match the experience of using Teamwork.com on Mac or Windows. Unfortunately, the iOS version has only received a single update in the last 6 months, an unexpected slowdown compared to the previous release history. This is a particularly notable issue for iPad users since the iPad app is simply a port of its iPhone counterpart, which comes with significant limitations.
Data Privacy
The Teamwork.com privacy policy offers a thorough explanation of the company’s data collection practices. The platform gathers a wide range of data points including your location, IP address, email address, phone number, physical address, name, and job title.
That sounds like a lot, but the policy states that customer information is only used internally rather than being shared with third parties. Teamwork.com uses data to improve its own services and stay in contact with its subscribers—not to profit by selling that data to other companies. While Teamwork.com can also use your data to connect you with organizations that could help your company, they will only do so with your permission.
Customer Service and Support
If you run into any issues while using the website, desktop app, or mobile app, check the Teamwork.com Help Center for basic information about using the platform and troubleshooting common technical problems. Teamwork.com also runs multiple live webinars per week to help users get more out of the service.
You can also contact the Teamwork.com support team directly if you don’t find what you’re looking for in the Help Center. Customer service is available on weekdays via live chat, email, and phone from 7am until 12am GMT, with limited availability on weekends.
