Remote can help you hire contractors, part-time employees, and full-time employees in any of the countries where it operates. Employment contracts are country-specific so that they comply with local employment laws. In addition, Remote helps you tailor your company’s benefits package so that it’s relevant to employees in each country and competitive with packages offered by local companies.
One of the key benefits of Remote is that it enables you to run payroll for employees in multiple countries. Details for all of your remote employees are found in your Remote dashboard, making it easy to enter hours and approve payments for employees regardless of what country they’re in. All payments are made in employees’ local currencies with no foreign transaction fees.
Remote also handles the process of securely transferring intellectual property (IP) from remote employees to your home country. Remote has its own legal entities in every country where it operates, ensuring your IP is never transferred to local partners without your knowledge. In addition, Remote writes IP protection into your employment contracts and helps you update your contracts when IP laws change.
To scale your business, Remote offers integrations with popular applicant tracking software, human resource information system software, and payroll software. The platform also has an API for businesses that want to create their own custom integrations. All Remote integrations are free to use.

One of the advantages to using Remote is that it automatically handles tax compliance in all the jurisdictions where you have remote employees. This is important because payroll tax laws and requirements are different in every country, and it can be difficult to know what forms you need to file, how much you need to pay, or when you need to pay.
Remote automatically tracks your tax liability, finds deductions, and files your taxes in each country and local jurisdiction where you have employees. It also issues tax documents to contractors and employers, including 1099 forms if your company has remote independent contractors in the United States.
Remote enables you to automate payroll, but invoices from contractors must be manually approved and paid. The platform supports one-time and recurring non-payroll payments such as bonuses, commissions, travel allowances, and more.
Your business can pay invoices by bank wire, Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) bank transfer, Automated Clearing House (ACH) bank transfer, credit card, or debit card. Credit card payments incur a 3% processing fee, but all other payment methods are free with Remote.
Employees are automatically paid in their local currency. Remote doesn’t charge any fees for currency exchange.
The Remote platform is fairly easy to use despite the inherent complexity in managing payroll for employees across different countries, currency, and regulatory frameworks.
You can easily see all of the remote employees your company has connected to Remote, and the dashboard notifies you if you need to approve timesheets or pay contractors’ invoices. If you have a large team, you can filter employees by country, salary, payroll date, role, and more. A run payroll tab simplifies the process of processing payments for a large number of employees at once.
The dashboard has separate tabs for bonus payments and time off. This is helpful since these are two of the most commonly accessed features besides those used for payroll tracking. Tax and contract documents are also relatively accessible, although they’re not as neatly laid out as payroll data.
Remote doesn’t have mobile apps at this time—the platform is only available on the web.

Remote offers 4 different pricing plans. The Contractor Management plan is free and enables you to onboard and manage independent contractors in any country where Remote operates. You can approve and pay invoices with no foreign exchange fees, and Remote will automatically generate required tax forms for your contractors (such as 1099 forms in the US).
The Employer of Record plan enables you to hire part-time and full-time employees. It offers support for payroll, benefits management, and taxes and gives you access to country-specific HR and legal experts when you need them. This plan costs $349 per employee per month or $3,588 per employee per year. Your first employee is free for 1 year.
The Global Payroll and Remote Enterprise plans are priced by quote only. Both plans are designed for companies that have entities in multiple countries and want a centralized payroll solution.
The Global Payroll plan enables you to break down payroll reports by country and automatically keeps your contracts up to date as local employment laws change. The Remote Enterprise plan offers dedicated support for onboarding multiple remote employees at once. It also includes free legal consultations and customized reporting.
