Is the Home Service Club Warranty Bogus ?
The Home Service Club Warranty has a great a GREAT sales team. They convinced me into switching 4 of my properties over to them after having many years of fair service with another home warranty company. Ironically, I had 2 recent claims on faulty air conditioners. Property (1) : My personal home in California - Although, the a/c was serviced every 5 years and had no issues as of the 6/15/20 service report; it failed in July. I submitted a claim and HSC responded a week later. Their tech submitted his diagnosis "normal wear & tear"and several days later they declined the claim for various reasons. I objected and had documentation, photos, that there was no rust / corrosion & even their tech called them & said that he never stated any of the reasons for their declination in his report other than normal wear & tear - BUT they did offer a full replacement at my out of pocket cost of $8600. I protested to no avail since the unit was 18 years old & we just wanted a/c. I sent in my credit card payment for $8600. As of today, I still have not heard anything back after repeated requests for an update. Claim # 438839. Property (2) is a FIVE YEAR OLD, old town house rental in Florida. Claim# 414380. On 6/21/21 I sent in a claim for a faulty a/c. HSC did respond. Their tech diagnosed the unit 4 days later. After getting approval from HSC & replacing a few parts, the unit worked for 2 days then quit. This happened repeatedly. One of my 2 tenants understandably, moved out . I rented a one room portable a/c for $85 per day for my tenant. Their tech finally gave up & told HSC that he could not find the problem. I spent 3 hours on the phone trying to find a company that could respond in a timely manner. The new a/c company determined that HSC's previous tech replaced the wrong parts. I convinced HSC per the terms of their contract to accept the new company since this had then been going on for 42 days & because they could not find any other company that would work with them. The tech submitted his diagnosis to HSC FIVE DAYS AGO and after numerous, repeated calls every day, they state that they are still working on it for approval to be repaired. It has cost me over $ 1800 for the portable rental. ( I know, I could have bought 2 for that price. ) And now my other tenant wants to move out. I have explained all this to HSC but they do not care. THIS HAS NOW BEEN GOING ON FOR FIFTY DAYS. I DON'T THINK THIS COMPLAINT WILL EVEN GET HSC'S ATTENTION BUT I DID FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT WITH DEP'T OF INSURANCE AND MY BUSINESS PARTNER IS A LITIGATION ATTORNEY WHO PROMISED ME A LEGAL REMEDY AND WE ARE EVEN CONSIDERING A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT SINCE THEIR ARE CERTAINLY ENOUGH COMPLAINTS OUT THERE. LET'S SEE IF I GET THE STANDARD GENERIC RESPONSE ABOUT CONTACT FROM A SUPERVISOR... STAY TUNED ! After 2 months of fighting with them I Just got the final verdict from HSC : since their original contractor who they appointed to do the work had an incompetent technician who burnt up all the a/c components but then failed to get the work approved first by HSC and simply did it.; they denied my claim. It was HSC's contractor.!!! It cost me nearly $3000.They are a den of theives. Look at their BBB score !

I really had a wonderful experience with the exterminator that was there to rid my house of the worst mice infestation I have ever lived through in my seven years living in this house. He knew a lot about these sorts of creatures. He really was an expert in his field. It was a privilege to have him over my house. Keep up the good work!

If you call over the phone, you can qualify for a quote with only your name, zip code, and residence type. Offers differ whether you call customer service or apply online, so you may want to try both to find the best deal. Once you submit your application and pay all applicable fees, your coverage begins within 30 days.

In the event you wish to cancel your service, HSC provides a full refund if you cancel within 30 days of your contract start date. If you cancel after the 30-day introductory period, you can still receive a prorated refund. All cancellation requests incur a $45 processing fee.

It offers industry standard features including a 90-day service guarantee and a full refund if you cancel your plan within 30 days. On Trustpilot, HSC earned a 4 out of 5 star rating on 486 reviews. Homewarrantyreviews.com presented HSC its “Best in Service” award in 2015, 2016, 2019, and 2020. The primary basis for the evaluation included customer retention, claim approval rates, use of technology, credibility, and customer service.

However, at this time, HSC is not accredited with the BBB. In addition, customers filed more than 541 complaints against HSC within the last 3 years. Most of these complaints concerned service delays, billing issues, or failure to cover certain repairs.

HSC vs. Global Home Protection

Compared to Global Home Protection, HSC’s premium for basic coverage is more expensive. In addition, its $65-$125 service fee could cost you more than Global’s $45-$100 fee. If you want to save money on your premium and fees, Global is the better choice. However, if you want access to a larger confirmed network of contractors, HSC is the right option for you.

HSC vs. American Home Shield

When compared to American Home Shield, HSC charades a similar amount for full-home coverage. However, American Home Shield could be the better option if you opt for less coverage. On the other hand, HSC may save you money in service fees, as its fees on the low end are cheaper than those charged at American Home Shield.

Home Service Club Home Service Club Visit Site

HSC vs. Puls Home Services

Given its home warranty model, Puls Home Services charges cheaper premiums than HSC. If you want to save money on premiums and service fees, then Puls is the right company for you. That said, if you want access to a larger number of in-network contractors, you would be better off choosing HSC.

Bottom Line

The Home Service Club is suitable for homeowners who want to get the most coverage possible out of their home warranty. While its premiums and service fees are higher than those of several competitors, it offers promotions that make its plans more affordable. Unlike many others, HSC provides pest coverage and unique features like utility line coverage. Support is available 24/7 online, and HSC schedules service requests within 12 to 48 hours of you submitting your claim.
