It goes one step further, adding in the fresh meats, produce, and bakery delights. And then Amazon Fresh extends its services even further, offering items such as pet supplies, health and beauty supplies, alcohol, home organizers, bed and bath necessities, and the ever-popular Amazon devices. 

So you’re talking about an incredible selection of items that you can add to your grocery list for delivery. And then add to all that the fact that you’re shopping with Amazon. So you could conceivably toss in other non-grocery items into your order as well.

Amazon is all about convenience (and variety), so it was only natural that Amazon Fresh should come with a slew of convenient features. The coolest perk in this department is shopping with Alexa. You can call out items you need, and Alexa will add them to your cart. Alexa can also tell you the latest deals and sale items, update your order, change your delivery schedule, and perform other helpful shopping tasks efficiently.

• Delivery window

Amazon Fresh offers thousands of items for 1- and 2-hour delivery, although this isn’t available everywhere in the country (you have to check with Amazon Fresh to see if this service is available in your area). If your order includes items that don’t include fast-shipping, you could end up receiving our order split up over several days. Amazon Fresh also lets you schedule your delivery for any time during the week. If you live in an area where Key by Amazon is available, your Amazon Fresh delivery driver can even drop off your groceries directly in your garage to keep them safe.

How It Works

Shopping with Amazon Fresh is convenient but can be a little daunting due to the sheer number of options available. Here’s how it works:

• Next, put the items you want in your cart. If you aren’t a Prime member, you’ll need to sign up for an account first. If you prefer to pick up your groceries from a Whole Foods location near you, you can opt for this instead of delivery. You’ll get a text message when your order is ready. You can check in using the app while you’re on the way and choose curbside pickup (someone will bring the items to your car) or self-pickup.

Pricing

One of the downsides to Amazon Fresh is that you need to have an Amazon Prime membership in order to use the service. If you aren’t a member yet, then signing up for the additional service can get pricey, especially if you don’t make use of your Prime membership in other ways. That being said, most people get a lot of use out of their Prime accounts between free shipping, Prime Music, and other perks that come packaged with the deal. There’s also a monthly membership fee for the Amazon Fresh account itself. Here’s the breakdown:

Shipping costs $9.99 unless you qualify for free shipping. What your free shipping threshold is will depend on where you live in the country. But it’s generally $40. Members can choose to get a monthly or a yearly subscription.

As far as product pricing, Amazon Fresh definitely rates highly. Since it has such a tremendous selection, you can easily find groceries in every price range. And Amazon Fresh is always running deals. You can “clip” virtual coupons, buy daily sale items, or enjoy the everyday low prices that come with shopping on Amazon. All in all, Amazon Fresh has some of the most competitive prices out there.

Amazon Fresh also has a subscribe and save option. This option allows you to save up to 20% on items that you have delivered frequently. Not all items are eligible for this feature, so check out the subscribe and save products, set up your delivery schedule, and save a chunk of cash in the process.
