Various control panels - Ultahost’s shared hosting comes complete with the cPanel control panel, which is a powerful, user-friendly option. Some packages, such as the VPS and dedicated server plans, enable you to choose from cPanel, Plesk, and various free options.

You’ll also benefit from a suite of software tools, including DDoS protection, malware protection, firewalls, and real-time server monitoring. And you can purchase optional security add-ons if you’d like to. 

What’s more, all data centers are certified and protected with a range of physical security measures, including cameras, access controls, and physical security patrols. This helps to ensure that a physical data breach doesn’t occur.

How to Get Started With Ultahost

To get started with Ultahost, simply select your package and follow the prompts to begin your registration. 

With some hosting packages, including shared and WordPress hosting, you’ll be asked to specify a domain for your website. You can either register a new domain or use one that you already own. You can get a free domain name with 12-, 24-, or 36-month subscriptions.

Overall, I found this process very straightforward. The checkout add-ons were a little frustrating, but they aren’t pre-selected, so simply scroll past them if you don’t want them.

Ultahost offers 24/7/365 phone, email, online ticketing, and live chat support. I chatted with the live chat team a few times, and they responded almost immediately every time. What’s more, every team member I spoke with was friendly and knowledgeable. 

On top of its excellent live support, Ultahost has an in-depth knowledge base containing loads of useful resources. It’s cleverly categorized, and you can use the built-in search box to find guides, tutorials, and useful informational articles. There’s also a FAQ section and a blog with a variety of educational articles.  

How to Cancel or Pause an Ultahost Subscription

To cancel your Ultahost subscription, you will need to head to your Client Area and navigate to the product you want to cancel. Follow the prompts to confirm your cancellation. Unfortunately, there’s no way to pause your subscription. 

Most products, including the popular shared hosting, are eligible for a full refund if you cancel within the first 30 days. But this won’t be automatically applied, and you’ll need to reach out to the customer service team and request a refund.

How Much Does Ultahost Cost? 

Ultahost has various subscription options and different subscription lengths for each of its products. For starters, there are four shared hosting plans ranging from $3.29 to $12.99 for a monthly subscription. Quarterly, six-monthly, annual, biannual, and triannual subscriptions are also available, and you can access small discounts with longer commitments. 

There’s also WordPress hosting, ranging from $2.90 to $27.50 per month for a monthly subscription. VPS plans range from $5.50 to $40.50 per month for base packages, and dedicated servers range from $129.90 to $370.50 per month. Again, discounts are available with longer subscriptions. 

Ultahost also offers a 30-day money-back guarantee with its shared hosting and many of its other products. This enables you to request a refund if you’re not happy within the first 30 days. Note that not all products are eligible, and some fees are non-refundable. 

The Shared Starter plan only supports a single website, making it useful for personal or small business projects. The Shared Basic plan adds more storage and enables you to create up to four sites, enabling you to expand to multiple projects. 

The Shared Business and Shared Pro packages enable you to connect unlimited sites and add more storage and support for more visitors per month. This makes them perfect for larger projects and anyone who wants to create multiple sites. 

If you expect more than 50,000 visitors per month or are planning to run a resource-intensive site, you might want to look at upgrading to a VPS or dedicated server plan with more power. 

All things considered, I was impressed with Ultahost’s prices. It’s super competitively priced compared to most alternatives, and it doesn’t use sneaky introductory deals or non-transparent pricing to draw customers in. 

What can you do with Ultahost for free?

Ultahost enables you to register an account and explore the dashboard for free. However, it has no free hosting or other services.

Hostinger is known as one of the most budget-friendly hosts out there, and Ultahost comes close to matching it. Hostinger’s long-term deals are better, but Ultahost has much more affordable monthly prices. Both are excellent options, and both are favorites of mine that I have trouble choosing between. 

Ultahost vs Bluehost

Bluehost also offers similar initial prices to Ultahost, but these quickly increase after your initial subscription. It’s more expensive, and it lacks the security features that Ultahost implements. I’d recommend using Ultahost over Bluehost in almost all cases. 

Ultahost vs HostGator

HostGator is another one that requires you to sign up for a long time period to access its lowest prices. It’s much more expensive than Ultahost with monthly billing, and its performance can leave a little to be desired. I’d only go with HostGator over Ultahost is if you want to use its powerful Gator website builder to create your site.
