How Elementor Works
Hosting Types
Elementor only offers managed WordPress hosting. It can be used to create a WordPress site with the Elementor page builder plugin, which means that it’s not the most flexible option.
On the plus side, Elementor’s hosting is built on the Google Cloud Platform, which means that you can rest assured that it will be a reliable, high-powered option. It also boasts automatic integration with the Cloudflare content delivery network (CDN), which makes it an attractive proposition for those with a focus on performance and website speed.
Uptime and Performance
Unfortunately, Elementor doesn’t have any uptime guarantee. This is a little concerning, to say the least, as it means that your site could potentially be offline for an extended period of time without any compensation or other repercussions.
What’s better to see, though, is that Elementor hosting is powered by the Google Cloud Platform. This is one of the world’s most reliable cloud hosting providers, which should give you some confidence in Elementor’s performance and uptime.
As a new hosting service, there’s no hard and fast information about the platform’s performance. Once again, though, we would expect speed and reliability to be excellent because of the fact that it’s backed by Google Cloud.
Website Builder Features
All Elementor hosting subscriptions come with full access to the Pro version of the Elementor page builder plugin. This is arguably the most powerful WordPress page builder, and it comes with an impressive range of site creation and management features.
For one, the Elementor page builder has an element-based drag-and-drop editor. This is easy to use, relatively beginner-friendly, and offers much more design flexibility than the native WordPress editor. Simply drop elements where required, add your own content, and customize global settings to fine-tune your design.
On top of this, the Elementor page builder comes with more than 300 attractive templates that you can base your site on. There are over 90 widgets to help you add extra functionality to your site, along with a popup builder and a custom theme builder.
Take advantage of the code-free platform and create your site without any tech skills whatsoever. Or, add your own custom CSS code to fine-tune your design if required.
There are also numerous marketing, mobile editing, form creation, and other tools that you can use to add functionality to your site. And of course, you can use other WordPress plugins if you require specialized features that aren’t included with the Elementor page builder.
At this stage, Elementor doesn’t offer any type of email solution with its hosting package. This may be a little frustrating for some, but there are plenty of third-party platforms and WordPress plugins that you can use to add advanced email functionality to your site.
Control Panel
Unfortunately, Elementor only provides very basic information about its control panel. And with a long waiting list and no way to trial its hosting services, we were unable to physically test it.
What we can say, though, is that you will benefit from a native Elementor interface. This appears to be beginner-friendly and tidy, but don’t expect to get the power of more advanced control panel options such as cPanel or Plesk.
Elementor Customer Support
Elementor hosting comes with a premium support package, which includes a one-day average response time for all queries. This is a little slow, but you can rest assured that the team will be able to help you solve any problems in an efficient, streamlined manner.
What’s more impressive is the neat help center. This contains numerous tutorials, how-to articles, guides, and more. There’s also a Facebook group where you can get help from other users, as well as a selection of webinars that touch on more advanced topics.
Elementor Pricing
Pricing & Special Offers
Elementor only offers one hosting package, which costs $49 per year. It provides full access to the Elementor Pro WordPress page builder, along with a selection of hosting features to help you get the most out of your website.
With this, you will have access to fully managed WordPress hosting with 20 GB of storage, 50 GB of bandwidth, and support for up to 25,000 monthly visitors. All of Elementor’s hosting solutions are built on the Google Cloud platform, and they all come with built-in SSL security and the Cloudflare content delivery network (CDN).
Unfortunately, though, this package only enables you to create one website. If you want to build more than one site, you will need to sign up for multiple plans, which could get quite expensive if you’re not careful.
At the time of writing, Elementor’s web hosting wasn’t fully launched. Due to high demand, the only way to access it was to join a waiting list to be notified when a spot opened up.
Bottom Line
Elementor hosting is a newcomer to the web hosting market, and we’d like to see a few improvements before we can really recommend it as a useful option. It’s quite competitively priced and backed by the power of the popular Elementor page builder, but there are just too many missing features, and the lack of transparency is a major concern.
For one, we would have liked to see more information about the user interface, which we were unable to test. Some sort of uptime guarantee needs to be added, and integrated email tools would be very nice to see.
The bottom line: Elementor hosting has some positive aspects, and it could be a good option for those who want to use the WordPress and Elementor page builder combination exclusively. But if you want to use another CMS or create more than one site, we’d recommend looking elsewhere.
