While part of the massive Grubhub organization, Seamless is not as widespread as some of its competitors. But what Seamless lacks in size, it more than makes up for in quality. I particularly like the way Seamless lists the restaurants available to you. Each one has a category and prominently displayed opening hours. What’s more, each restaurant has ratings based on a five-star system, and you can read real user reviews. In my book, this is worth more than all the marketing gimmicks bigger names invest in.

Additionally, Seamless shows you where you can save by placing deals and promotions at the bottom of each restaurant listing. So you can see that this one offers $5 off your order, this one gives 35% off, etc. Everything is very organized and easy to use. 

On top of that, Seamless has a ton of options to choose from. While it doesn’t offer the same massive selection that some other meal delivery services do, you will still find thousands of restaurants ready to deliver to you.

Seamless has a cashback rewards program too. There’s a catch, though. You can only apply the rewards cash to a specific restaurant. So if you order from the same place regularly, this can be beneficial. Otherwise, it might be challenging to work up enough rewards credit to be worthwhile. 

Another nice difference that helps Seamless stand out is the donate your change feature. You can opt into this program, and Seamless will round up your order to the nearest dollar amount. Seamless will donate the extra change to worthy causes, including pandemic aid, kid hunger, and more. For every donation you give to No Kid Hungry, Seamless doubles the amount.

How It Works

Ordering from Seamless can happen in minutes, though it might take you longer just to peruse the mouthwatering menus. Your choice. Either way, here’s what you can do to get food fast:

• Sign up for a Seamless account or log in

If this is your first time, you’ll need to sign up for an account. This only takes a minute. Just enter your details (name, email address, street address), and choose a password. If you’re already a member, you can log into your account to see your previous orders and favorited restaurants.

Click on the restaurant that looks good to you to pull up their menu. One thing I don’t love about Seamless is that not all items on the menu have an image. Who wants to order food without seeing what it looks like first? Of course, this has to do with the restaurant, not Seamless. But it does detract somewhat from the user experience. My advice? Choose a restaurant with pics. 

What I do like is all the customization options available. A long menu of options pops up when you select your meal of choice, and you can decide to add things like extra meat, sauces, etc. You can also specify instructions in this section. 

• Confirm your order and pay

After that, it’s a quick step to paying for your order and waiting for it to be delivered. Here’s where you can opt into the donate your change program. You can track your delivery on the mobile app with restaurants that have order tracking enabled.

Alternatively, you can choose to pick up your order if you’re in the neighborhood. Call the restaurant when you arrive, and a staff member will bring your order to your car. This is a good option if you want to avoid eating at or entering crowded restaurants or just don’t want to sit around waiting for a waiter to take and prepare your order.
