ZarMoney is delightfully easy to set up. You only have to sign up to get access to the free trial. From there, ZarMoney lets you sync your bank accounts and include other accounts that might be relevant. The dashboard itself is easy to navigate, but a word of caution. Since ZarMoney does so much, there is a bit of a learning curve until you get to know all of the functionality. We consider this a plus, not a minus, but it’s worth noting.
ZarMoney is all about customization. You can tweak everything from calendars to dashboard layout and field names. It’s a breath of fresh air to be able to manipulate the system to view it the way you want it. ZarMoney also has ready-made templates you can use for invoicing and other recurring tasks. Integrations include top business apps like AutoEntry, Shopify, Stripe, Zapier, Authorize.net, Gusto, and Mailchimp.

The amount of features ZarMoney covers is simply astounding. From customer management to invoicing, sales, orders, and vendor management, it’s mind-boggling how much ZarMoney manages to accomplish. This software also covers productivity tools such as internal notes, notifications, dashboards, restricted access, and instant messaging between team members. Here are a few of the areas where ZarMoney excels:
- General Ledger and Expense Tracking
You can import your bank transactions and match with just a click. ZarMoney connects with nearly 10,000 financial institutions across the US and Canada so you can clearly spot discrepancies and correct them. ZarMoney also keeps an excellent record of expenses, tracking them and allowing you to attach them to bills later on.
- Inventory Management
ZarMoney has full inventory management with some neat features. The system will automatically update itself to include accurate item value and display how many of an item you have in stock. So you can quickly see stock levels and keep up with demands in real-time. Other inventory tools include 2-step warehouse transfer, product categorization (customizable), unit measures, pick lists, and FIFO cost methods, to name a few.
- Billing and Invoicing
ZarMoney also has an incredibly extensive billing and invoicing functionality. You can create and send quotes or estimates for a job, send out invoices based on quotes, include order statements, and manage quick sales with cash and carry orders. You can send purchase orders via email and directly from the ZarMoney platform, print checks, and link related purchase orders, sales orders, and bills. You can also set up payable calendars, so you don’t miss a beat. The reporting features (which we’ll cover in a second) allow you to review payables and receivables, cash flow, and expenses as well. You can even add notes to a transaction for more clarity.
- Reports
Including sales analysis, profits tracking, and inventory reviews. We particularly like that you can even check up on distribution via service trucks and third party fulfillment with just a glance. It’s an incredibly comprehensive reporting system that shows you your entire business from a bird’s eye view.
- Project management and collaboration tools
Finally, ZarMoney lets your entire team stay up to date with all the information via an in-house instant messaging app. Team members can attach files and communicate with one another to avoid miscommunication and more efficiently collaborate on projects. ZarMoney also uses alerts to flag issues that need to be dealt with immediately. Project management is simple with custom statuses, to-do calendars, and order schedules.

ZarMoney doesn’t have a mobile app. It is fully functional on any mobile device, though. But if you’re looking for a dedicated app, you’re out of luck. We were very pleased with how smoothly ZarMoney works on mobile devices. The dashboard is clearly displayed even on the smaller screen, and you can access all the same functionality from a mobile as you can on the desktop version.

ZarMoney is easily one of the best business management tools we’ve come across yet. The suite of features available is beyond words (or at least the scope of this review). Add to that a comprehensive accounting software package that includes automatic bank account reconciliations and sales tax calculations, and it becomes something you will wonder how you managed without.
